ABOUT ME
After graduating from Middlebury College, I was awarded a Thomas J. Watson Travelling Fellowship and enjoyed a year abroad before earning a Master of Science degree from Columbia University's Institute of Human Nutrition, College of Physicians and Surgeons. I became a Registered Dietitian and have worked in hospital, clinic, and private settings since 1986. I am a certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, and I train teens and adults. I am the creator of the "Bod Squad," a fitness and nutrition empowerment program for teen girls and "Talk the Walk," an outdoor fitness and group counseling program.
In addition to private nutrition therapy and personal training, I have appeared in print and on television. I have lectured widely to health professionals, to faculty and students in area schools and colleges, to corporate conferences, and community groups throughout the northeast, including the Harvard / Tufts Medical School conference on Obesity and Eating Disorders. I am a member of the American Dietetic Association (ADA), the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), the Westchester and Rockland Dietetic Association, and the following ADA subgroups: Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutritionists, Weight Management, and Behavioral Health Nutrition.

In my spare time I love to hang out with my family being physically active, cooking, traveling, and volunteering. Recently, in partnership with the Fresh Air Fund, I created a non-profit to provide financial support and mentoring to disadvantaged college bound NYC teens.
